They say “the truth hurts” but should it lead to murder?
We all know the Swedes are under American pressure to gag Julian Assange with a trumped-up rape charge.
The revelations by Wikileaks are interesting in their own right but just as interesting is the reaction to the revelations.
Some people in power have a very strong interest in hiding the truth from the public.
Republican nut job Sarah Palin has demanded that the WikiLeaks chief is hunted down like Osama bin Laden and treated like an Al Qaeda terrorist.
Whilst another idiot, Professor Tom Flanagan, this time linked to the Canadian Prime Minister is so desperate for the truth to be buried that he calls for the assassination of Wikileaks founder Julian Assange.
If Professor Flanagan had been a Muslim calling for the murder of someone, I’m sure the media and authorities would be taking it more seriously, with the usual calls of “mad mullahs” who are against freedom of speech.
So let’s apply the same rule here.
The Akh calls for Prof. Flanagan to be arrested on the grounds of inciting murder.
Never have George Orwell’s words rung truer:
“During times of universal deceit telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act”
