Does The UN’s “All Necessary Measures” Resolution Allow For Assassinating Gaddafi?

The UN SC resolution allows for “all necessary measures” to protect Libyan civilians, but does that mean Gaddafi’s targeted assassination has been approved?

Well, Britain’s war secretary Dr. Fox stated that targeting Gaddafi directly was “potentially a possibility”.

Now correct me if I’m wrong, but aren’t their international laws and conventions that mean you can’t just go around assassinating foreign heads of state, no matter who despicable they may be (Robert Mugabe?) or how much they resemble a battered old Thundercat (Gaddafi-cat).

In perhaps the most pointless exercise ever, MPs are to debate the UK’s involvement in military action in Libya later, culminating in a vote in the Commons.

A bit like shutting the barn door once the horse has already bolted.

There were a few very interesting comments made on the Libyan situation by Farrakhan, (view from 04:50 onwards) on western hypocrisy when it comes to the noble motive of humanitarian intervention.

Whilst George Galloway breaks it down like only he can.

He talks about why the UK and other countries are interested in Libya so much…. it’s about oil, which other African despot countries don’t have.

I’d say they haven’t ruled out an assassination of Gaddafi. Not that I agree with it– but I also don’t agree with what they guy’s been doing his entire regime.

I’ve got a tip for a story I think you might be interested commenting on. It deals with Syria and the recent demonstrations. Here’s a video you might want to embed and comment about on your website: The video looks at multiple perspectives from varying news outlets on what’s going on in Syria.

I hope you can find some use for the video. Let me know if you have any questions.
