It’s been almost a decade in the making, with tens of thousands of pounds in missing mosque funds and a long running feud in the high court, but the village idiots of Wycombe Islamic Mission® have finally held a mosque committee election.
As always, let The Akh break it down for you.
My locality of H/W is no different to any other ghetto mentality Muslim neighbourhood in England. It has has it’s share of well doers but the majority professional class consist of “paki shop” owners, greasy deathtrap takeaways and the poorly employed taxi mafia’s and their aspirationally challenged (wannabe tony montana type drug dealing) children.
In the mix of all this comes Wycombe Islamic Mission (WIM) the long founded Mosque to serve H/W’s mainly Mirpuri/Brelvi community.
WIM operate out of 3 locations in H/W and offer a culturally attuned Islam that it’s patrons require, you know the one I’m talking about, plenty of tinsel, flashing lights that give you a headache, the obligatory singing in punjabi and the parades to celebrate the birth of the Prophet (SAW) as
“This is very, very important to our Islamic functions. It is high profile because as like Christmas we celebrate the birth of the holy prophet”
The crux of the matter with WIM is that first & foremost it’s incorporated as a limited business, not as a charity.
You can view their finances on companies house.
A limited company (rather than a charity) has shareholders and pays out dividends, so why WIM has chosen to run like a business rather than a charity is anyones guess.
But when you franchise your operation from three locations, and collect an easy £10K a week in donations, perhaps it’s easy to see why you want to get into the “mosque business”.
Maybe that’s the real reason why rival factions have been fighting in the high court for control of this money making venture.
It was only after this dispute was settled, was a call for mosque elections called.
All the village idiots were out in full on Sunday to cast their votes to elect a new management committee, with two police cars stationed in front of the mosque to ensure the taxi mafia goon squad didn’t pull out knives and threaten to kill people like they did during a jumma khutbah a couple of years back, when allegations of mismanagement of mosque funds were aired publicly.
So now that the village idiots have counted up their votes, I can hear you asking what the result was?
Well let me tell you this.
One of the elderly “uncles” decided that he was no longer fit to sit on the committee any more.
Excellent!
An excellent opportunity to get younger blood with fresh ideas and outlook to drive the locals forward.
Sorry to burst your bubble.
The Uncle got his own son to stand in his place, and rather obligingly, his entire baradari (clan system) voted for him en masse.
And thats how the perpetual circle of insanity continues, in my part of the world, mosque elections are nothing but a fraud, a hollow sham of an event that ensures the same families keep power of a money making asset.
The Prophet (SAW) hadith of the best of you being ruled by the worst comes to mind.
